Job Description

We are currently working with a Specialist school in the Skelmersdale area to recruit for a DT teacher specialising in food to start a long term role from January.

About the Role

You will:

  • Plan and deliver engaging Food Technology lessons tailored to students with a range of additional learning needs.

  • Create a safe, supportive and practical learning environment in the food tech classroom.

  • Differentiate lessons to meet individual EHCP targets and diverse learning styles.

  • Work closely with support staff, therapists and the wider school team to ensure each student thrives.

  • Monitor progress, provide feedback and contribute to students' personal and academic development.

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS or QTLS).

  • Experience teaching Food Technology (school or college setting).

  • Previous experience in an SEN environment is highly desirable.

  • Strong behaviour management and excellent communication skills.

  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one).
