Year 2 Teacher

Tradewind Recruitment is excited to recruit a motivated Year 2 Teacher for a vibrant primary school in the Horwich area of Bolton, starting January or February half-term. This long-term role focuses on preparing pupils for the end of Key Stage 1 assessments, making it ideal for a teacher confident in delivering high-quality learning with measurable outcomes.

The school boasts an encouraging leadership team and a committed KS1 phase. With smaller than average class sizes and good levels of support, the incoming teacher will have every opportunity to help learners succeed.

Responsibilities include:

• Delivering fun, structured and curriculum-aligned lessons

• Preparing pupils for KS1 SATs using supportive and low-stress approaches

• Tracking progress and intervening early where needed

• Managing behaviour positively and consistently

• Building strong relationships with children and families

• Contributing to planning meetings and team-based decision making

The ideal candidate will:

• Hold QTS and strong KS1 experience

• Have a good understanding of phonics, reading fluency and early writing

• Be confident in assessment procedures

• Demonstrate resilience, creativity and adaptability

• Have excellent communication and teamwork skills
