Tradewind Recruitment are seeking an enthusiastic Key Stage 1 Teaching Assistant to join a warm and supportive primary school in the Farnworth area of Bolton. This full-time position is ideal for someone passionate about early learning and confident supporting pupils in Years 1 and 2.

You will play an essential role in helping pupils build foundational skills in phonics, reading, writing, and early mathematics. Working alongside the class teacher, you will contribute to creating an engaging learning environment where every child feels valued and supported.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide general TA support within Year 1 and Year 2.

  • Assist pupils with phonics, early reading, and basic number work.

  • Deliver small-group activities and targeted interventions.

  • Prepare classroom materials and support lesson organisation.

  • Offer one-to-one support for pupils requiring additional help.

  • Contribute to positive behaviour management practices.

  • Provide feedback to the class teacher on pupil progress.

  • Support children in developing confidence, independence, and positive learning habits.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Experience working in a KS1 setting or with young children.

  • Understanding of early reading strategies, particularly phonics.

  • Patient, nurturing, and confident in supporting young learners.

  • Able to work collaboratively and take direction.

  • Reliable, organised, and proactive.
