We're recruiting an Additional Needs Mentor to join a supportive SEN school on the Wirral this Jan. This is a brilliant role for someone who wants to make a real impact as a positive role model, guide and steady presence for pupils who need extra support throughout the school day.

The role:

  • Working closely with pupils with a range of additional needs, helping them feel settled, understood and ready to learn

  • Providing pastoral support, emotional guidance and daily encouragement to help pupils manage routines and build confidence

  • Supporting pupils in class, small groups and during transition times to keep them engaged and regulated

  • Modelling positive behaviour, promoting resilience and helping pupils develop social and communication skills

  • Building strong, trusting relationships with pupils, staff and families

  • Supporting teachers with personalised learning strategies and adapting activities where needed

What we're looking for:

  • Experience supporting children or young people in schools, care, SEN or youth settings

  • A calm, nurturing and patient approach

  • Someone who can act as a steady role model and guide for pupils who need consistency

  • Good communication skills and the ability to build rapport quickly

  • A genuine interest in helping children with additional needs thrive
