We're recruiting a Wellbeing Mentor to join a welcoming SEN school in Runcorn from January. This role is perfect for someone who wants to support pupils' emotional health, daily routines and overall wellbeing while helping them feel safe, understood and ready to learn.
The role:
Providing daily wellbeing support for pupils with a range of additional needs
Helping pupils regulate emotions, manage frustration and build coping strategies
Offering calm, consistent guidance during transitions, break times and classroom routines
Supporting social skills, communication and confidence through structured activities
Acting as a positive, trusted adult who pupils can check in with throughout the day
Working closely with teachers and the SEN team to support EHCP goals and personalised plans
Encouraging independence, resilience and positive behaviour in and out of lessons
What we're looking for:
Experience supporting children or young people in SEN, SEMH, care, youth work or similar
A calm, patient and nurturing approach with strong emotional awareness
Someone who can build quick, positive relationships and offer steady reassurance
Confidence supporting pupils with ASD, communication needs or anxiety
A genuine passion for helping pupils improve their emotional wellbeing
