Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant

Contract: Full-time / Part-time (term-time only)

Job Description
We are seeking a caring, committed and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive school in the Wellingborough area. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference by supporting pupils with special educational needs to reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SEN (including ASD, ADHD, SEMH or learning difficulties)

  • Support pupils with their academic, social and emotional development

  • Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement individual education plans (IEPs)

  • Promote a positive, inclusive and nurturing learning environment

  • Assist with behaviour management and classroom activities

  • Support pupils with personal care where required (training provided if needed)

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN (desirable but not essential)

  • A patient, empathetic and resilient approach

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

  • A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs

  • Relevant qualifications or training in education or SEN are desirable

  • Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)
