Food Technician

Location: Secondary School, Newham
Contract: [Full-time]
Start Date: Immediately

We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Food Technician to join our successful Design & Technology department at a vibrant secondary school in Newham.

The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the delivery of high-quality Food Preparation and Nutrition lessons, ensuring a safe, well-organised, and engaging learning environment for students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare ingredients, equipment, and resources for practical food lessons

  • Support teachers during practical sessions

  • Maintain a clean, safe, and well-stocked food technology area in line with health and safety regulations

  • Manage ordering, stock control, and storage of ingredients and equipment

  • Assist with risk assessments and food hygiene procedures

  • Support students' learning and practical skills development

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Experience working in a food, catering, or educational setting (school experience desirable)

  • Knowledge of food hygiene, health and safety, and allergen awareness

  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail

  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team

  • A positive, flexible, and proactive approach
