Behaviour Mentor
Location: Secondary School, Newham
Contract: Full-time
Start Date: Immediate
We are seeking a motivated and resilient Behaviour Mentor to join our supportive and inclusive secondary school in Newham.
This is a rewarding role for someone passionate about supporting young people to overcome barriers to learning, develop positive behaviour, and achieve success both academically and socially.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide 1:1 and small-group mentoring to students with behavioural, social, and emotional needs
Support students to manage behaviour, build resilience, and develop self-regulation strategies
Work closely with teaching staff, pastoral teams, SENCo, and external agencies
Promote positive behaviour, attendance, and engagement in learning
Support students during unstructured times, including break and lunch
Contribute to behaviour support plans and monitoring progress
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
Experience working with young people in an educational, youth work, or mentoring setting
A calm, consistent, and empathetic approach
Strong behaviour management and communication skills
The ability to build positive relationships with students and staff
A commitment to safeguarding and inclusive practice
