Behaviour Mentor

Location: Secondary School, Newham
Contract: Full-time
Start Date: Immediate

We are seeking a motivated and resilient Behaviour Mentor to join our supportive and inclusive secondary school in Newham.

This is a rewarding role for someone passionate about supporting young people to overcome barriers to learning, develop positive behaviour, and achieve success both academically and socially.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 and small-group mentoring to students with behavioural, social, and emotional needs

  • Support students to manage behaviour, build resilience, and develop self-regulation strategies

  • Work closely with teaching staff, pastoral teams, SENCo, and external agencies

  • Promote positive behaviour, attendance, and engagement in learning

  • Support students during unstructured times, including break and lunch

  • Contribute to behaviour support plans and monitoring progress

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Experience working with young people in an educational, youth work, or mentoring setting

  • A calm, consistent, and empathetic approach

  • Strong behaviour management and communication skills

  • The ability to build positive relationships with students and staff

  • A commitment to safeguarding and inclusive practice
