Psychology Teaching Assistant

Location: Secondary School, Tower Hamlets
Contract: Full-time
Start Date: Immediately

We are seeking a motivated and empathetic Psychology Teaching Assistant to join our supportive and inclusive secondary school in Tower Hamlets.

This role is ideal for a psychology graduate or an individual with a strong interest in child development, mental health, and behaviour, who is passionate about supporting young people to succeed both academically and emotionally.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students' learning in lessons, small groups, and 1:1 interventions

  • Work with students with a range of needs, including SEN, SEMH, and wellbeing needs

  • Assist in delivering targeted interventions linked to behaviour, emotional regulation, and mental health

  • Work closely with teachers, SENCo, pastoral teams, and external professionals

  • Observe, record, and report on student progress and wellbeing

  • Promote positive behaviour, inclusion, and engagement in learning

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • A degree in Psychology or a related field (desirable)

  • Experience working with children or young people (school or youth setting desirable)

  • A calm, patient, and empathetic approach

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

  • A genuine interest in educational psychology, mental health, or teaching

  • A commitment to safeguarding and student wellbeing
