Mental Health Practitioner - Corby

Location: Corby, Northamptonshire
Start Date: January 2026
Contract: Full-Time | Temporary to Permanent

We are working in partnership with all-through schools in Corby who are seeking a committed Mental Health Practitioner to join their teams from January 2026. This is a full-time, temporary-to-permanent role, offering long-term stability within a supportive educational setting.

About the Role:

  • Deliver one-to-one and small-group interventions for students experiencing emotional and mental health challenges, including anxiety, low mood, emotional regulation difficulties, and confidence issues

  • Complete assessments and contribute to individual support plans in collaboration with SENCOs, pastoral staff, and families

  • Support a whole-school approach to mental health and wellbeing, including wellbeing initiatives and student drop-in sessions

  • Work closely with teaching staff and external agencies to ensure joined-up, child-centred support

  • Promote resilience, emotional literacy, and positive coping strategies through structured sessions

  • Maintain accurate records in line with safeguarding and confidentiality policies

We're Looking For:

  • A qualified or experienced Mental Health Practitioner, Counsellor, Youth Worker, Mental Health Nurse, or Social Worker

  • Experience supporting children or young people in education, healthcare, or community-based settings

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build trusting relationships

  • A calm, empathetic, and non-judgemental approach

  • A good understanding of safeguarding practices and child mental health

  • Additional training in areas such as CBT, trauma-informed practice, or emotional regulation is desirable
