Teacher of Religious Education

Location: Corby, Northamptonshire
Contract: Full-time / Part-time considered

The Role

We are seeking a dedicated and reflective Teacher of Religious Education to join a supportive and forward-thinking secondary school in the Corby area. This is an excellent opportunity for a committed practitioner who is passionate about developing students' understanding of religion, belief, ethics, and values in a diverse society.

You will teach Religious Education across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the opportunity to teach Key Stage 5 for a suitably experienced candidate.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging and thought-provoking RE lessons in line with the agreed syllabus

  • Develop students' knowledge of world religions, philosophy, and ethics

  • Promote respectful discussion, critical thinking, and reflection

  • Assess, track, and monitor pupil progress to inform teaching and intervention

  • Differentiate learning to meet the needs of all pupils

  • Maintain high expectations for behaviour and engagement

  • Contribute to the ongoing development of the RE curriculum

The Ideal Candidate

  • Must hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) - this is essential

  • Has strong subject knowledge in Religious Education

  • Is committed to inclusive education and promoting tolerance and respect

  • Demonstrates effective classroom and behaviour management

  • Works collaboratively and positively as part of a team

  • Suitable for both experienced teachers and those recently qualified
