Job Description

Youth Mentor & Student Support (Day-to-Day Supply)

Location: Secondary Schools across Blackpool & The Fylde Coast

Salary: £102.83 to £168.80 per day (weekly pay)

Contract: Flexible / Day-to-Day Supply (Work the days you want)

The Role: Impact Without the Paperwork

Are you a Youth Worker, Outreach Support, or Residential Worker looking for work that fits around your life? Do you have a knack for building instant rapport with teenagers who find school a challenge?

Tradewind Recruitment is looking for "relatable role models" to support secondary schools across Blackpool. Unlike a permanent role, day-to-day supply work gives you the freedom to choose your own schedule.

Why Choose Supply Work with Tradewind?

  • Total Flexibility: You tell us when you are free. Want to work 5 days this week but only 2 next week? We work around your lifestyle.

  • No Planning, No Marking: You turn up, support the students, and leave at 3:30 PM. No take-home work.

  • Competitive Weekly Pay: Top rates of pay, paid into your account every Friday.

  • Professional Development: Access to over 2,500 accredited CPD courses to boost your CV while you work.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Classroom Management: Supporting the teacher by keeping students on task and managing disruption.

  • 1:1 Intervention: Stepping in to support a student who is having a difficult day or needs a "break-out" session from the main lesson.

  • Pastoral Support: Working in the school's "Inclusion Hub" or "Isolation Unit" to mentor students and de-escalate potential conflicts.

  • Building Rapport: Using your youth work experience to connect with "hard-to-reach" learners and keep their day on track.

Who We're Looking For

  • The "Relatable" Professional: You can talk to a 15-year-old on their level while maintaining clear boundaries and authority.

  • Relevant Experience: Backgrounds in Youth Clubs, Sports Coaching, PRUs, Social Work, or Residential Care are highly valued.

  • Reliability: Schools in Blackpool rely on our staff to be a steady presence. You should be punctual and ready to hit the ground running.

How It Works

  1. Register: We'll get you cleared and vetted (including a full Enhanced DBS check).

  2. Availability: You keep your dedicated consultant updated with the days you are free to work.

  3. The Morning Call: We'll contact you as soon as a booking comes in (often the morning of, or the night before) with the school details.

  4. Go & Make an Impact: Use your skills to help Blackpool's young people stay engaged in education.
