Job Title: Cover Supervisor
Location: Wellingborough / Rushden, Northamptonshire
Contract: Full-time (term-time only)
Start Date: As soon as possible (or by agreement)
We are seeking to appoint a reliable and confident Cover Supervisor to join a supportive secondary school in the Wellingborough/Rushden area. This is an excellent opportunity for someone considering a future career in teaching or education, or for an experienced Cover Supervisor looking for a full-time role.
The successful candidate will supervise whole classes during the short-term absence of teaching staff, ensuring students remain on task and follow the work set.
Key responsibilities include:
Supervising classes across a range of subjects at Key Stages 3 and 4
Managing classroom behaviour in line with school policies
Ensuring a positive, safe, and productive learning environment
Providing feedback to teaching staff on student engagement and behaviour
Supporting the wider school community as required
The successful candidate will:
Have experience working with young people (education experience desirable)
Be confident managing classroom behaviour
Have strong communication and organisational skills
Be flexible, proactive, and professional
Be committed to safeguarding and student wellbeing
