SEN Learning Support Assistant - Oldham

Tradewind Recruitment is delighted to offer an exciting opportunity for an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant or a graduate with a strong interest in pursuing a career in teaching. This full-time role is based in a welcoming 2-form entry primary school in Oldham and is available for an immediate start.

The school is Ofsted-rated "Outstanding" and is well known for its inclusive ethos and supportive staff culture. The team works collaboratively to ensure every child receives the support they need to thrive both academically and socially.

The Role

As a SEN Learning Support Assistant, you will:

  • Support pupils with a range of special educational needs

  • Work closely with the class teacher to adapt lessons and learning activities

  • Provide tailored 1:1 and small-group support

  • Help create a positive, engaging, and inclusive learning environment

This role is ideal for graduates looking to gain hands-on classroom experience before moving into teacher training, as well as experienced SEN TAs who are passionate about making a difference.

What We're Looking For

  • Experience working with children with SEN (or a strong desire to do so)

  • A genuine interest in a career in education

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • A proactive, adaptable, and enthusiastic approach

  • Ability to engage and support children with diverse learning needs

Job Requirements

  • Experience supporting SEN pupils, ideally in a mainstream school

  • Enhanced DBS Disclosure (and Overseas Police Checks if applicable)

  • Two professional references

  • A CV covering the last 10 years of employment, with any gaps explained

  • Legal right to work in the UK
