Mechanics Teacher - SEMH Provision
Location: Corby, Northamptonshire
Contract: Full-time | Long-term / Permanent (via Tradewind Recruitment)

Tradewind Recruitment is seeking a committed and resilient Mechanics Teacher to work within a specialist SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) setting in Corby. This role is ideal for a professional who is passionate about vocational education and has a strong understanding of mental health and trauma-informed practice.
The Role:
Deliver engaging, practical Mechanics / Motor Vehicle lessons tailored to pupils with SEMH needs
Adapt learning to meet individual EHCP targets and varying emotional needs
Build positive, trusting relationships with young people who may have experienced trauma or disrupted education
Support behaviour regulation using consistent, calm, and therapeutic approaches
Work collaboratively with pastoral teams, SEN staff, and external professionals
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
QTS/QTLS or relevant experience teaching Mechanics in an educational or training setting
Experience working with SEMH learners or within alternative / specialist provision
A strong understanding of mental health, attachment, and behaviour as communication
Excellent behaviour management skills grounded in empathy and consistency
A commitment to safeguarding and inclusive practice
