Tradewind Recruitment is proud to be working with a specialist SEN school in Corby to recruit a dedicated and compassionate Primary School Teacher to join their team, supporting pupils within a severe Autism (ASD) class.

This is a rewarding opportunity for an experienced SEN practitioner or a passionate teacher who is eager to develop their expertise in a highly supportive and specialist environment. The school caters for children with complex needs, including severe autism, communication difficulties, sensory processing needs, and associated behaviours. Every pupil is treated as an individual, with education plans carefully tailored to help them thrive both academically and emotionally.

As the class teacher, you will be responsible for delivering a creative and structured curriculum that meets the needs of pupils working significantly below age-related expectations. You will work closely with a skilled team of teaching assistants, therapists, and SEN professionals to provide a calm, consistent, and nurturing learning environment. Strong behaviour management, patience, and an understanding of autism-specific strategies such as visual supports, routines, and sensory regulation will be key to success in this role.

You will receive ongoing support and guidance, making this role suitable for teachers with previous SEN/ASD experience as well as those with a strong interest in special education who are ready to take the next step in their career.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Hold QTS (or equivalent recognised teaching qualification)

  • Have experience working with children with ASD and/or severe or complex needs (desirable)

  • Be calm, resilient, and adaptable

  • Have a genuine passion for SEN and inclusive education

  • Work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
