Job Description

Tradewind Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a specialist SEN school in Corby in their search for a committed and compassionate SEN Teacher to join their team. This role focuses on working within a Primary-aged ASD class, supporting pupils with severe autism and complex needs.

This is a highly rewarding opportunity for an experienced SEN Teacher or a passionate educator with a strong interest in special educational needs who is looking to make a meaningful difference. The school provides a safe, structured, and nurturing environment for children with significant communication difficulties, sensory processing needs, and behaviours associated with severe autism. Every child is supported through highly personalised learning programmes designed to help them reach their full potential.

As the SEN Teacher, you will take responsibility for planning and delivering engaging, differentiated lessons that meet the individual needs of pupils who are working well below age-related expectations. You will use autism-specific strategies such as visual timetables, structured routines, sensory regulation approaches, and alternative communication methods to support learning and emotional wellbeing. You will be supported by a skilled team of teaching assistants and work closely with therapists, SENCOs, and external professionals to ensure a holistic approach to education.

The school is well-resourced and places a strong emphasis on teamwork, staff wellbeing, and professional development. You will benefit from a collaborative culture where staff are supported, valued, and encouraged to grow in their practice. This role would suit someone who is patient, resilient, adaptable, and genuinely passionate about working with children with severe and complex needs.

The successful candidate will:

  • Hold QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification

  • Have experience working with children with ASD and/or complex SEN (desirable but not essential)

  • Demonstrate strong behaviour management and emotional regulation strategies

  • Be committed to inclusive, child-centred education

  • Work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team

This role is booked through Tradewind Recruitment, offering competitive daily rates, access to high-quality CPD opportunities, and ongoing support from a dedicated education consultant.
