We are working with a specialist SEMH secondary school in the Corby area to recruit a Mental Health Teaching Assistant to support pupils with complex emotional and behavioural needs.
The Role:
As a Mental Health Teaching Assistant, you will:
Provide tailored emotional and behavioural support to pupils with SEMH needs
Support students in managing anxiety, trauma and emotional regulation
Work closely with teachers, pastoral teams and external professionals
Support learning both in and out of the classroom
Build positive, trusting relationships to promote engagement and progress
Help implement behaviour support plans and individual strategies
The Ideal Candidate:
Experience supporting children or young people with SEMH, mental health or behavioural needs
A calm, patient and resilient approach
Strong communication and relationship-building skills
Ability to remain consistent and professional in challenging situations
Relevant qualifications or training in mental health, psychology, youth work or education are desirable but not essential
