We are recruiting a Mental Health Teaching Assistant to work in a specialist SEMH secondary provision in the Corby area, supporting pupils who require consistent emotional and behavioural support to succeed both academically and personally.
The Role:
In this role, you will:
Support students with emotional regulation, mental health and behavioural challenges
Provide targeted one-to-one and small group support
Assist pupils in accessing learning within a structured and supportive environment
Work collaboratively with teaching staff, pastoral teams and external agencies
Encourage positive behaviour, engagement and personal development
Help deliver individual support and behaviour plans
The Ideal Candidate:
Previous experience working with young people with SEMH or mental health needs
A resilient, empathetic and patient approach
Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships
Confidence in managing challenging behaviour in a calm and professional manner
Backgrounds in youth work, psychology, mental health or education are advantageous but not essential
