SEN Teaching Assistant (Nursery - High Needs) - Full Time

Location: Hackney - Manor House

Start Date: ASAP - with trial

Duration: Full time until the end of the school year

Pay: £95 per day, increasing to £116 per day

Role Overview

This role will involve supporting a high-needs pupil in the mornings (Autism; feeding tube in place - no feeding to be administered in school) and working with a range of high needs pupils in the afternoons across the nursery setting. The successful candidate will be a confident practitioner who is experienced in EYFS and supporting children with complex needs

Key Responsibilities

Provide 1:1 support for a pupil with Autism and high needs

Support a range of high needs nursery pupils during afternoon sessions

Assist with personal care, including toileting and hygiene routines

Support access to learning through differentiated activities and targeted interventions

Promote positive behaviour and emotional regulation

Work closely with class teachers, SENDCo, and other staff to implement personalised strategies and support plans

Maintain accurate records and contribute to reviews and planning

Required Experience & Skills

Extensive EYFS experience, especially within a nursery setting

Significant experience supporting high needs pupils, including Autism

Experience with personal care and toileting

Confidence supporting pupils with complex medical needs (feeding tube present - no feeding required)

Strong communication and teamwork skills

Calm, patient, and resilient approach

Knowledge of SEND support strategies and best practice
