Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant (SEN TA)

Contract: Full-time
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) to join our supportive and inclusive secondary school in Newham.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting young people with additional needs and helping them achieve their full potential in a mainstream secondary school environment.

The Role

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Support students with a range of special educational needs, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and learning difficulties

  • Work closely with teachers, the SENCO, and external professionals to deliver tailored support

  • Provide one-to-one and small group interventions

  • Promote positive behaviour, engagement, and independence

  • Support students both in and out of the classroom

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has experience working with children or young people with SEN (desirable but not essential)

  • Is patient, empathetic, and resilient

  • Has strong communication and teamwork skills

  • Is committed to safeguarding and promoting student wellbeing

  • Is keen to develop professionally within education
