We are seeking an experienced and committed Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a dynamic Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in Ilford, Redbridge. This is a full-time role supporting students with social, emotional and behavioural needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver planned learning activities to individuals and small groups

  • Support the planning and delivery of an adapted curriculum

  • Cover lessons when required and support teaching staff

  • Promote positive behaviour and engagement in learning

  • Support students' emotional and social development

  • Maintain a safe, inclusive and structured learning environment

Requirements:

  • HLTA qualification or equivalent experience

  • Experience working in a PRU, SEMH or alternative provision setting (essential)

  • Strong behaviour management skills

  • Ability to build positive, trusting relationships with young people

  • Resilient, flexible and proactive approach
