Behaviour Mentor

Location: Wellingborough, Northamptonshire
Salary: £90-£110 per day (depending on experience)
Contract: Full-time | Long-term (with potential to become permanent)
Start date: ASAP / Next available start

Tradewind Recruitment are currently working with a welcoming and inclusive secondary school in Wellingborough who are seeking a dedicated Behaviour Mentor to support students with behavioural, emotional and social needs.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about making a real difference to the lives of young people who require additional guidance and support to succeed in a school environment.

The Role:

As a Behaviour Mentor, you will:

  • Work closely with pupils who display challenging behaviour, both in and out of the classroom

  • Provide 1:1 and small group interventions to support emotional regulation and positive behaviour

  • Build strong, trusting relationships with students to help them re-engage with learning

  • Support teaching staff with behaviour management strategies

  • Liaise with SENCOs, pastoral staff and external agencies where required

  • Act as a positive role model at all times

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Has experience working with children or young people with behavioural needs (school, youth work, care or similar settings)

  • Is calm, resilient and confident when managing challenging behaviour

  • Has a genuine passion for supporting vulnerable learners

  • Possesses strong communication and relationship-building skills

  • Holds (or is willing to obtain) an enhanced DBS on the update service
