SEN Teaching Assistant - Wellingborough

Location: Wellingborough, Northamptonshire
Start Date: ASAP / Flexible
Hours: Full-time or Part-time (term time only)

Tradewind Recruitment is currently working with a friendly and inclusive school in the Wellingborough area that is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their support team. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone passionate about helping children with additional needs thrive both academically and emotionally.

The Role:

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will provide tailored support to pupils with a range of special educational needs, including autism, ADHD, learning difficulties, and social, emotional, and mental health needs. Support may be on a one-to-one basis or in small groups, depending on individual pupil requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting pupils with SEN to access learning and achieve positive outcomes

  • Providing one-to-one and small group support

  • Assisting the class teacher with differentiated activities

  • Encouraging positive behaviour, engagement, and independence

  • Working closely with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral staff

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEN (education, care, or support settings)

  • A patient, caring, and flexible approach

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

  • A genuine passion for inclusive education

  • Relevant SEN training or qualifications are desirable but not essential
