Mental Health Teaching Assistant - SEMH School (Corby)

Tradewind Recruitment is looking for a compassionate and proactive Mental Health Teaching Assistant to support students in a specialist SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) school in Corby.

This is a rewarding role for someone who understands mental health and wants to make a real difference in the lives of young people with emotional and behavioural needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting pupils with SEMH needs 1:1 and in small groups

  • Assisting students with emotional regulation, anxiety management, and behavioural challenges

  • Working alongside teachers, SEN teams, and external professionals to create a supportive learning environment

  • Promoting positive behaviour, resilience, and engagement in learning

About You:

  • Strong understanding of mental health and emotional wellbeing

  • Experience supporting children or young people with SEMH, SEN, or behavioural needs (school, care, youth work, or mental health settings all welcomed)

  • Calm, patient, and resilient, with the ability to build trusting relationships

  • Confident managing challenging behaviour in a structured and supportive way

  • Passionate about helping young people reach their potential
