Mental Health Teaching Assistant
Location: Corby

Contract: Full-time

Tradewind Recruitment is currently recruiting a committed and empathetic Mental Health Teaching Assistant to work full-time in a school setting, supporting pupils with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs.
This role is well suited to individuals who are passionate about mental health and eager to support young people in overcoming emotional and behavioural challenges that may impact their learning.
The Role:
Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEMH needs
Support emotional regulation, resilience, and positive behaviour strategies
Assist students in accessing the curriculum and remaining engaged in learning
Work closely with teaching staff, SENCOs, and pastoral teams
Help maintain a safe, structured, and nurturing learning environment
The Ideal Candidate:
Experience working with children or young people with mental health or SEMH needs
Calm, patient, and emotionally resilient approach
Strong communication and relationship-building skills
Good understanding of safeguarding and professional boundaries
Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
Relevant backgrounds include: psychology, youth work, care work, counselling, mental health support, or SEN education.
