Tradewind Recruitment is seeking a dedicated Mental Health Teaching Assistant to support students in a specialist SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) school in Corby.
This is a highly rewarding role for someone with a mental health background, passionate about helping young people with emotional and behavioural needs thrive.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SEMH needs
Assist students with emotional regulation, anxiety management, and behavioural challenges
Collaborate with teachers, SEN teams, and external professionals to create a supportive learning environment
Encourage positive behaviour, resilience, and engagement in learning
About You:
Experience or qualification in mental health (e.g., psychology, counselling, mental health support, or equivalent)
Knowledge of SEMH and emotional wellbeing in children and young people
Experience supporting pupils with SEMH, SEN, or behavioural needs in schools, care, youth work, or mental health settings
Calm, patient, and resilient, with the ability to build strong, trusting relationships
Confident managing challenging behaviour in a structured and supportive way
