Sports Coach - Northampton

Are you passionate about sport and motivated by helping young people stay active, build confidence, and develop important life skills? Are you looking for an opportunity to use your coaching experience in a school setting?
Tradewind Recruitment is working with a number of secondary schools in Northampton that are looking to appoint enthusiastic and reliable Sports Coaches to support their PE departments. These opportunities are available for an immediate start or from April 2026 and offer full-time, long-term positions.
These roles are ideal for sports graduates, experienced coaches, or individuals with a strong sporting background who are interested in gaining valuable experience working with young people in education.
What You'll Be Doing:
* Assisting PE teachers in delivering engaging and structured physical education lessons
* Leading small group activities and supporting students during practical sports sessions
* Running or assisting with lunchtime and after-school sports clubs
* Supporting the organisation of school sports events, fixtures, and competitions
* Encouraging students to take part in physical activity and maintain a healthy lifestyle
* Promoting teamwork, resilience, and positive participation in sport
What We're Looking For:
* A background in sport, coaching, or physical education (for example Sports Science, coaching qualifications, or similar experience)
* Someone who is energetic, approachable, and enthusiastic about working with young people
* Strong communication skills and the confidence to manage groups of students
* A proactive and reliable individual who works well as part of a team
* Previous experience working with children or in coaching environments is beneficial but not essential
