Special Needs Teaching Assistant (Primary) - Long‑Term Role

Tradewind Recruitment is seeking a Special Needs Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and supportive primary school in Birmingham for a full time-long‑term position.
This role is ideal for someone with a calm, nurturing approach and a genuine passion for helping children with additional needs reach their full potential.
💼 About the Role
As a Special Needs TA, you will be providing 1:1 support for a pupil with additional needs who requires consistent male support, including:
- Personal care (toileting, hygiene support, and mobility assistance)
- Supporting emotional regulation and promoting independence
- Helping the pupil engage in classroom activities and social interactions
- Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO
- Ensuring a safe, positive, and structured learning environment
This is a long‑term, full‑time role, offering stability and the opportunity to build a meaningful relationship with the pupil you support.
✨ What We're Looking For
We welcome applicants with experience in:
- Special Educational Needs (Autism, ADHD, SEMH, physical needs, or developmental delays)
- Personal care in educational or care settings
- Behaviour support or mentoring
- Working with children in primary schools
A patient, resilient, and empathetic TA would be ideal due to the pupil's specific care and support requirements.

- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
- Right to work in the UK
- Relevant experience working with children or in care
- A positive attitude and a commitment to helping all learners succeed
