Alternative Provision Teaching Assistant - Secondary School

Tradewind Recruitment are currently seeking a committed and resilient Alternative Provision Teaching Assistant to work within a secondary school setting supporting students with behavioural needs.

The provision supports students who may struggle in a mainstream classroom due to behavioural challenges, so we are looking for individuals who are patient, adaptable, and genuinely passionate about inclusion.
The Role:
As an Alternative Provision Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with students on both a 1:1 basis and in small groups. You will often act as a consistent 'shadow' support, helping students to engage with learning, manage their behaviour, and build positive relationships. Every day will be different, and you will need to be confident in responding to challenges calmly and effectively.
We are looking for someone who:
- Has experience working with young people, ideally within a secondary or alternative provision setting
- Can think outside the box and adapt their approach to meet individual needs
- Is resilient, patient, and able to build strong, trusting relationships
- Is confident supporting students with behavioural difficulties
- Works well as part of a supportive and collaborative team
