Level 2 Teaching Assistant - SEND (Northampton)

Tradewind Recruitment are currently seeking an experienced and committed Level 2 Teaching Assistant to support pupils with SEND in a welcoming school in Northampton.

This is a highly rewarding opportunity for someone with a strong background in SEND to work closely with pupils with MLD, SLD and PMLD. The role will involve supporting students on both a 1:1 basis and in small groups, helping them to access learning in a way that suits their individual needs, while also promoting independence and confidence.

You will be expected to work closely with teaching staff and other professionals, supporting the delivery of tailored learning plans and ensuring pupils are engaged, supported, and making progress. A solid understanding of EHCPs and IEPs is essential, as well as experience using a range of communication methods to support students with varying needs.

This role requires someone who is patient, adaptable, and proactive, with the ability to respond calmly to challenges and think creatively when supporting pupils. Building strong, trusting relationships will be key to your success in this position.

Requirements:

  • Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent)
  • Strong experience supporting SEND pupils
  • Experience working with MLD, SLD and PMLD
  • Confident using a range of communication strategies
  • Good working knowledge of EHCPs and IEPs
  • A patient, resilient, and nurturing approach
