Unqualified Maths Teacher - Northampton
Location: Northampton, Northamptonshire
Start Date: April 2026
Contract: Full-Time | Long-Term (with potential to become permanent)
Salary: £100-£160 per day (depending on experience and level of school support)

We are working with a welcoming and supportive secondary school in Northampton that is looking for an enthusiastic Unqualified Maths Teacher to join their team from April 2026. This is a fantastic opportunity for Maths graduates, aspiring teachers, or individuals with strong subject knowledge who want to step into the classroom and gain real experience.

Your Role:

  • Deliver engaging, pre-planned Maths lessons across KS3 and KS4
  • Support students in building confidence, understanding, and problem-solving skills
  • Create a positive and well-managed classroom environment
  • Adapt your approach to meet the needs of different learners
  • Work alongside experienced teachers and mentors to develop your teaching skills
  • Get involved in school life and ongoing professional development

What We're Looking For:

  • A degree in Mathematics or a related subject, or strong Maths knowledge
  • Experience working with young people (e.g. tutoring, mentoring, coaching) is beneficial but not essential
  • Strong communication skills and confidence leading a classroom
  • A proactive, organised, and flexible approach
  • A genuine interest in education and developing as a teacher
  • Ideal for those considering teacher training routes such as PGCE, SCITT, or apprenticeships
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply
