We are working in partnership with a well-established secondary school in Northampton that is seeking a committed full-time Product Design Teacher to join their team from June or September 2026. The school prides itself on fostering creativity, practical skills, and a forward-thinking approach to Design & Technology.

This role is ideally offered on a permanent basis, though the school is open to considering strong candidates for fixed-term or long-term supply positions.

The Role

  • Plan and deliver high-quality Product Design lessons across KS3 and KS4 (KS5 may be available)
  • Encourage students to think critically and creatively through hands-on projects
  • Support the development of practical skills using a range of tools, materials, and technologies
  • Create a safe, engaging, and well-structured learning environment
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback
  • Contribute to a collaborative and innovative DT department

The Ideal Candidate

  • Holds QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification
  • Has experience teaching Product Design or Design Technology at secondary level in the UK
  • Confident in delivering practical lessons and managing a workshop environment
  • Demonstrates strong behaviour management and organisational skills
  • Brings energy, creativity, and a student-centred approach to teaching
  • Is committed to raising achievement and fostering a love of design
