Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver tailored lessons to meet the individual needs of pupils with ASD

  • Create a structured, predictable, and supportive classroom environment

  • Use a range of strategies to support communication, behaviour, and engagement

  • Work closely with teaching assistants and support staff to deliver high-quality provision

  • Monitor and assess pupil progress, adapting teaching approaches where needed

  • Build strong relationships with pupils, staff, and parents/carers

  • Support pupils' social, emotional, and academic development


Ideal Candidate

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent

  • Experience working with children with ASD, ideally within a primary setting

  • Strong understanding of SEND and inclusive teaching practices

  • Calm, patient, and nurturing approach to behaviour management

  • Ability to adapt teaching to meet a range of complex needs

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills

  • Passion for supporting children with additional needs to reach their full potential
