Job Description
We are currently recruiting for a qualified Secondary SEND Teacher to work on a supply basis in specialist SEND schools across Northampton, in partnership with Tradewind Recruitment. This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate and adaptable teacher who is committed to supporting young people with additional needs and making a real impact in inclusive educational settings.
As a Secondary SEND Teacher, you will be working with students aged 11-16 who have a range of special educational needs and disabilities, including autism spectrum conditions (ASC), moderate to severe learning difficulties (MLD/SLD), social, emotional and mental health needs (SEMH), and complex behavioural challenges. You will be responsible for delivering engaging and differentiated lessons that meet the individual needs of your pupils, helping them to access the curriculum and achieve their full potential.
Working on a supply basis offers flexibility and variety, allowing you to gain experience across different school environments while maintaining a healthy work-life balance. You will play a key role in creating a structured, supportive, and nurturing classroom environment where students feel safe, valued, and motivated to learn.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver tailored lessons in line with individual needs and EHCPs
- Differentiate learning to support a wide range of abilities and learning styles
- Manage classroom behaviour effectively using positive strategies
- Work collaboratively with teaching assistants and support staff
- Monitor, assess, and report on student progress
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- Experience teaching in a secondary or SEND setting
- Strong understanding of SEND needs and inclusive teaching practices
- Excellent behaviour management and communication skills
- Flexible, resilient, and proactive approach
