Job Description

We are currently seeking dedicated and experienced CAMHS Specialists to join our growing network of professionals working in schools across Northamptonshire through Tradewind Recruitment. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and young people who require additional emotional, behavioural, and mental health support within specialist educational settings.

As a CAMHS Specialist, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils with a wide range of needs, including social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) challenges, autism spectrum conditions (ASC), ADHD, trauma-related behaviours, and other complex needs. You will work closely with teaching staff, SENCOs, and external professionals to provide tailored interventions that help students engage positively with their education and develop essential life skills.

The role involves building strong, trusting relationships with pupils, many of whom may have experienced barriers to learning or difficulties regulating their emotions. You will use your clinical knowledge and practical experience to implement strategies that support emotional resilience, promote wellbeing, and encourage positive behaviour. Your input will be crucial in creating safe, nurturing environments where every child feels understood and supported.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEMH and additional needs
  • Deliver targeted interventions based on individual education and care plans (EHCPs)
  • Support emotional regulation, behaviour management, and wellbeing strategies
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals
  • Monitor and report on pupil progress and engagement
  • Help create a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment

Requirements:

  • Background in CAMHS, psychology, counselling, or a related field
  • Experience working with children or young people with additional needs
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to remain calm, patient, and adaptable in challenging situations
  • A genuine passion for supporting young people's mental health and development

In return, Tradewind Recruitment offers competitive rates of pay, ongoing professional development opportunities, and dedicated support from a specialist education consultant. You will have the chance to work in a variety of settings, gaining valuable experience while making a genuine impact.

If you are passionate about supporting young people with additional needs and want to be part of a supportive and dynamic team, we would love to hear from you.
