Are you passionate about supporting young people with their mental health and emotional wellbeing? We are seeking a caring and resilient Mental Health Teaching Assistant to work in schools across the Corby area.

This role is ideal for individuals looking to gain hands-on experience supporting students with additional needs, particularly those facing emotional or mental health challenges.

About the Role:
As a Mental Health Teaching Assistant, you will support students who may experience anxiety, low mood, behavioural difficulties, or other barriers to learning. You will work closely with teaching staff and pastoral teams to help students feel supported, engaged, and able to succeed in school.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support for students with SEMH needs

  • Support students in managing emotions and behaviour positively

  • Assist in creating a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment

  • Work collaboratively with teachers, SEN staff, and pastoral teams

  • Encourage participation and engagement in lessons

  • Build strong, trusting relationships with students

What We're Looking For:

  • Experience working with young people, ideally in a support, care, or education setting

  • A calm, patient, and empathetic approach

  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills

  • An interest in mental health, psychology, or pastoral care

  • A proactive and adaptable attitude

  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
