Mental Health Teaching Assistant

Are you looking for a role where you can genuinely impact young people's wellbeing and development? We are recruiting a Mental Health Teaching Assistant to support students across schools in the Corby area, helping them overcome barriers and succeed both academically and emotionally.

About the Role:
In this role, you will work with students who may present social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs. You will provide consistent support, helping them build confidence, regulate emotions, and stay engaged in their learning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver one-to-one and small group interventions for students with SEMH needs

  • Support students in developing coping strategies and emotional resilience

  • Assist with behaviour management and de-escalation when required

  • Work closely with teaching staff and pastoral teams to implement support plans

  • Encourage positive routines, engagement, and attendance

  • Act as a positive role model within the school environment

What We're Looking For:

  • Previous experience working with young people (education, care, youth work, or similar)

  • A calm, consistent, and understanding approach

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

  • A genuine interest in mental health and student wellbeing

  • Ability to build rapport and maintain professional boundaries

  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
