Tradewind Recruitment are currently recruiting for a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to work within an alternative provision setting in the Kettering area.
This rewarding role involves supporting children and young people with complex needs who require additional emotional, behavioural, and educational support to access learning and reach their full potential. The provision supports students who may struggle within mainstream education and benefit from a more nurturing and structured environment.
The successful candidate will be patient, resilient, and passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of vulnerable young people.
The Role:
Supporting students on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
Building positive and trusting relationships with pupils
Supporting emotional regulation and behaviour management
Assisting with classroom activities and engagement in learning
Promoting a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment
Working closely with teachers, pastoral teams, and external professionals
The Ideal Candidate Will:
Have experience working with children or young people with complex needs
Be calm, empathetic, and resilient
Have strong communication and relationship-building skills
Be passionate about supporting vulnerable students
Have experience within schools, care, youth work, counselling, or support work (desirable)
Hold an enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to obtain one
