Salary: MPS/UPS (dependent on experience)

We are seeking an enthusiastic and committed English Teacher to join a supportive secondary school in Wellingborough from September 2026.

The school is ideally looking for a permanent appointment, although they are open to fixed-term and long-term supply arrangements for the right candidate.

The Role

Teach English Language and English Literature across Key Stages 3 and 4
Deliver purposeful and engaging lessons that support both progress and enjoyment
Build students' confidence in reading comprehension, writing structure, and analysis
Use assessment effectively to inform planning and improve outcomes
Adapt teaching to support mixed-ability groups and individual learning needs
Play an active role in departmental planning and curriculum delivery
Support whole-school literacy development and enrichment opportunities

The Ideal Candidate

Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) or equivalent
Has a secure understanding of English Language and Literature
Can engage students through clear, structured, and enthusiastic teaching
Maintains strong behaviour management and classroom routines
Has a reflective approach and a commitment to ongoing improvement
Works well as part of a team and contributes positively to school life

Early Career Teachers (ECTs) are warmly encouraged to apply and will be fully supported.
