We are working in partnership with a well-regarded secondary school in Wellingborough that is seeking a committed Unqualified English Teacher to join their English department from September 2026. The school is ideally looking to appoint on a permanent basis; however, long-term supply and fixed-term contract arrangements will also be considered for the right candidate. This role is ideal for graduates or aspiring teachers who are eager to develop their skills and progress into education.

The Role:

  • Deliver structured or pre-planned English lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4

  • Support students in developing their literacy, comprehension, and analytical skills

  • Encourage engagement with a range of texts and help build confidence in written work

  • Maintain a calm, focused, and positive classroom environment

  • Adapt your approach to support learners with a range of abilities and needs

  • Work closely with qualified English teachers to develop classroom practice

  • Contribute to departmental activities and wider school life where appropriate

About You:

  • A degree in English, English Literature, or a related subject (or strong subject knowledge)

  • A genuine interest in working with young people and supporting their learning

  • Confident communication skills with the ability to lead a class

  • Organised, adaptable, and open to feedback and development

  • Passionate about education and considering a future in teaching

  • Interested in training routes such as PGCE, SCITT, or School Direct

  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply
