Tradewind Recruitment is currently seeking caring and committed Mental Health Support Assistants to work within school settings across Corby and the surrounding areas. This rewarding role is ideal for individuals looking to support pupils with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs, helping them to overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential.

The Role:

• Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with social, emotional, and mental health needs.

• Help students develop emotional regulation, confidence, resilience, and positive coping strategies.

• Support pupils both inside and outside the classroom to encourage engagement with learning.

• Build positive, trusting relationships with students and act as a consistent source of support.

• Work closely with teaching staff, SENCOs, pastoral teams, and external agencies where required.

• Assist in implementing behaviour support plans and wellbeing interventions.

• Promote a safe, nurturing, and inclusive school environment.

Requirements:

• Experience working with children or young people, ideally within education, youth work, care, support work, or mental health settings.

• A genuine passion for supporting children's emotional wellbeing and development.

• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.

• Patience, empathy, and resilience when supporting students facing challenges.

• An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).

• Relevant qualifications or training are beneficial but not essential.
