Location: Kettering, Northamptonshire
Salary: Competitive daily rate (£90-£100 per day, dependent on experience)
Contract: Full-time, Term Time Only
Start Date: ASAP / September 2026
Tradewind Recruitment are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming secondary school in the Kettering area.
This rewarding role involves providing tailored support to a student with additional learning needs, helping them to access the curriculum, develop confidence, and achieve their full potential within a mainstream secondary school environment.
The Role
As a 1:1 Teaching Assistant, you will:
Provide individualised support to a named student throughout the school day.
Assist with academic learning, engagement, and classroom participation.
Implement strategies outlined in the student's support plan and EHCP (where applicable).
Work closely with teaching staff, SENCOs, and external professionals to ensure consistent support.
Encourage positive behaviour, independence, and social development.
Support the student's emotional wellbeing and inclusion within the wider school community.
The Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will:
Have experience working with children or young people, ideally within a school setting.
Demonstrate patience, empathy, and excellent communication skills.
Have an understanding of SEND, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, or other additional needs.
Be able to build positive relationships and act as a positive role model.
Hold a relevant Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable but not essential).
Be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
