Pay Rate: £93-£100 per day (dependent on experience)

Tradewind Recruitment is currently working with a welcoming and supportive secondary school in Kettering that is seeking a Graduate Teaching Assistant to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated graduate looking to gain valuable classroom experience before progressing into teacher training, whether through a PGCE, SCITT, School Direct, or apprenticeship route.

This full-time position offers hands-on experience within a secondary school environment, allowing you to develop the skills, confidence, and knowledge needed for a successful career in education. You will work alongside experienced teachers and support staff while making a meaningful difference to students' academic progress and personal development.

About the Role

As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting teaching and learning across the school. You will work with students of varying abilities, providing both classroom support and targeted interventions to help them achieve their potential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting teachers in delivering engaging and effective lessons across KS3 and KS4

  • Working with students on a 1:1 basis and in small groups to reinforce learning

  • Delivering targeted intervention sessions to support academic progress

  • Assisting with classroom management and promoting positive behaviour

  • Helping to prepare learning resources and classroom materials

  • Supporting students with additional learning needs where required

  • Building positive relationships with students to encourage engagement and confidence

The Ideal Candidate Will

  • Hold a degree in any subject area

  • Have a genuine interest in pursuing a career within education or teaching

  • Be confident, enthusiastic, and keen to learn

  • Have strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Be able to build positive relationships with students and staff

  • Have experience working with young people through tutoring, mentoring, coaching, youth work, volunteering, or similar settings (desirable but not essential)
