SEN Teaching Assistant - Kettering
Location: Kettering, Northamptonshire

Contract: Full-Time | Temp-to-Perm Opportunity
Pay: £93-£100 per day (dependent on experience)

A welcoming and inclusive secondary school in Kettering is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team as soon as possible. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a genuine difference in the lives of young people by providing tailored support that helps them overcome barriers to learning and thrive both academically and personally.

Working closely with students who have a range of special educational needs, including Autism (ASC), ADHD, Speech and Language difficulties, and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, you will play a vital role in helping pupils access education and build confidence in their abilities.

Your Role Will Involve:

  • Supporting students on a 1:1 basis and in small groups to meet their individual learning needs

  • Assisting teachers in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons

  • Implementing strategies outlined in Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs)

  • Encouraging positive behaviour, independence, and engagement with learning

  • Supporting students with social, emotional, and communication development

  • Building strong, trusting relationships that help students feel safe, valued, and confident

  • Working collaboratively with teaching staff, SEND teams, and parents to support student progress

We're Looking For Someone Who:

  • Is passionate about supporting children and young people with additional needs

  • Demonstrates patience, empathy, and a nurturing approach

  • Has strong communication and relationship-building skills

  • Can remain calm and resilient when supporting students with complex needs

  • Has experience working with children or young people in education, care, youth work, coaching, or support settings (desirable but not essential)

  • Is eager to learn and develop their knowledge of SEND and inclusive education
