DT Technician - Exciting Opportunity in Corby

Are you a practical, organised, and enthusiastic individual with experience working in a workshop, engineering, manufacturing, or educational setting? Tradewind Recruitment is seeking a dedicated Design Technology Technician to join a welcoming secondary school in Corby.

This is an excellent opportunity to support students' learning while helping to maintain a safe, well-resourced, and engaging Design Technology department.

The Role

As a DT Technician, you will play a key role in supporting teaching and learning across the Design Technology department. You will work closely with teaching staff to prepare materials, maintain equipment, and ensure workshops are organised and compliant with health and safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Preparing materials, tools, and equipment for practical DT lessons

  • Maintaining workshops, machinery, and classroom resources

  • Supporting teachers and students during practical activities where required

  • Ensuring health and safety procedures are followed at all times

  • Managing stock levels and ordering materials when necessary

  • Assisting with practical assessments, projects, and examinations

  • Carrying out routine checks and basic maintenance of equipment

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

  • Experience working in a workshop, technical, engineering, manufacturing, or school environment

  • Good knowledge of health and safety procedures

  • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills

  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • A proactive and flexible approach to supporting staff and students

  • Previous school-based experience is desirable but not essential
