The Role

As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and support staff to provide high-quality support to pupils both inside and outside the classroom. You will play a key role in helping students engage with their learning and develop confidence in their abilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting students in lessons on a one-to-one basis and in small groups

  • Assisting teachers with classroom preparation and resource organisation

  • Encouraging positive behaviour and engagement with learning

  • Supporting pupils with additional learning needs where required

  • Helping to create an inclusive and nurturing learning environment

  • Monitoring pupil progress and providing feedback to teaching staff

  • Assisting with breaktime, lunchtime, and extracurricular activities when needed

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

  • Experience working with children or young people in an educational, childcare, or support setting

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • A patient, caring, and adaptable approach

  • The ability to build positive relationships with students and staff

  • A commitment to supporting pupil development and achievement

  • Previous school-based experience is desirable but not essential
