This is an exciting opportunity to help students develop their literacy, analytical, and communication skills while fostering a lifelong appreciation for literature and language.

Whether you are an experienced English Teacher or an Early Career Teacher (ECT), we are looking for someone who can deliver engaging lessons and inspire students to achieve their full potential.

The Role:

  • Teach English Language and English Literature across Key Stages 3 and 4, with opportunities to teach Key Stage 5 where available.

  • Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons that challenge and support learners of all abilities.

  • Assess, monitor, and track student progress, providing constructive feedback to drive achievement.

  • Contribute to curriculum development and departmental initiatives.

  • Promote high standards of behaviour, engagement, and academic excellence.

  • Support extracurricular activities that enhance students' enjoyment of English and literacy.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.

  • Experience teaching English within a UK secondary school setting.

  • Strong subject knowledge across English Language and Literature.

  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills.

  • A commitment to raising attainment and supporting student success.

  • An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
