Tradewind Recruitment are currently seeking passionate and dedicated Unqualified SEN Teachers to support a range of specialist schools and provisions across Northamptonshire from September.

This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with experience working with children and young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN) who are looking to take the next step in their education career. Whether you come from a teaching assistant, youth work, support work, care, coaching, or alternative provision background, we would love to hear from you.

As an Unqualified SEN Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging learning activities, supporting students with a range of additional needs, and helping to create a positive and inclusive learning environment. You will work closely with teaching staff, support teams, and school leaders to ensure students receive the support they need to achieve their full potential.

The schools we work with support students with a variety of needs, including Autism (ASC), ADHD, Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), and complex additional needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Delivering pre-planned lessons and learning activities to individuals and small groups.
  • Supporting students with their academic, social, and emotional development.
  • Adapting learning activities to meet individual needs and learning styles.
  • Managing behaviour positively and effectively in line with school policies.
  • Building strong relationships with students, staff, and families.
  • Monitoring progress and providing feedback to teaching staff and school leaders.
  • Promoting a safe, supportive, and engaging learning environment.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEN.
  • A genuine passion for supporting students with additional needs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Confidence leading learning activities and managing groups of students.
  • A patient, resilient, and adaptable approach.
  • Experience within schools, alternative provisions, youth work, residential care, or similar settings is highly desirable.
  • A desire to pursue a long-term career within education.
