Student Support Officer - Corby

Location: Corby, Northamptonshire
Salary: £90 - £120 per day (dependent on experience)
Contract: Full-Time | Term Time Only
Start Date: September 2026 (or sooner for the right candidate)

Tradewind Recruitment is currently recruiting for a dedicated and compassionate Student Support Officer to join a supportive secondary school in Corby. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with experience in education, youth work, mentoring, pastoral care, or behavioural support.

The Role

As a Student Support Officer, you will:

  • Provide pastoral and behavioural support to students across Key Stages 3 and 4

  • Build positive relationships with students, parents, and staff

  • Support attendance, wellbeing, and student engagement initiatives

  • Work closely with teaching staff and the pastoral team to identify and address barriers to learning

  • Deliver interventions and mentoring programmes to support student progress and personal development

  • Promote positive behaviour and help maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has previous experience working with young people in an educational, pastoral, youth work, or support setting

  • Possesses excellent communication and relationship-building skills

  • Can remain calm, professional, and resilient in challenging situations

  • Is passionate about supporting student wellbeing and achievement

  • Has strong organisational and record-keeping skills

  • Holds a commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
